We are looking for a professional who combines sustainable building expertise with hands-on support for residential projects, robust climate data reporting and effective collaboration across Poland and Skanska Residential in Central Europe. The role supports delivery of Skanska’s Climate Target, the development of energy-efficient and low-carbon buildings, and compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities
Coordinate the sustainability agenda for residential projects, from early design decisions through delivery, performance monitoring and communication.
Advise project teams on building energy performance, operational and embodied carbon reduction, renewable energy, low-carbon materials, circularity and climate resilience.
Coordinate calculations and analyses, including energy performance, primary energy demand, life cycle assessment and project carbon footprint, and translate results into technical and business recommendations.
Lead the collection, aggregation, validation and reporting of Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions data in line with Skanska policies and standards, the GHG Protocol and SBTi-aligned targets.
Safeguard data quality by agreeing sources and owners, checking completeness and consistency, maintaining an audit trail, explaining variances and preparing evidence for audits and reviews.
Monitor legislative developments and assess their impact on projects and processes, particularly building energy performance, the EU Taxonomy, sustainability reporting, environmental requirements, and Polish and EU construction and technical regulations linked with climate policies.
Support environmental building certifications, particularly BREEAM, and contribute to environmental management systems and audits.
Develop standards, guidance, analyses and training materials; share knowledge and support internal and external communication.
Build effective cooperation with other departments, especially Project Development, Customer Relations, Sales & Marketing and Comms, as well as external partners and Skanska colleagues in other countries.
What we are looking for
A university degree, preferably in construction, environmental engineering, architecture, environmental science or a related discipline.
Practical knowledge of sustainable construction and the building life cycle, including energy demand reduction, operational and embodied carbon, and the selection of technical and material solutions.
Knowledge of GHG inventory and reporting methodologies, including Scopes 1, 2 and 3, organisational and operational boundaries, data consolidation and quality verification; familiarity with the GHG Protocol and the SBTi approach.
Strong data skills: obtaining information from multiple functions and systems, structuring and validating data, analysing results and communicating insights. Advanced Excel skills are expected.
Knowledge of Polish and EU legislation relevant to sustainable construction, climate and energy, with the ability to translate regulatory requirements into project actions and procedures. This should include awareness of building energy performance rules, technical construction requirements and the EU Taxonomy.
Experience with LCA and/or building energy performance calculations. Knowledge of One Click LCA or comparable tools is an advantage.
Knowledge of building certification systems, preferably BREEAM. A BREEAM AP or comparable qualification is an advantage.
Fluent spoken and written English, enabling confident collaboration, meeting facilitation, preparation of analyses and presentation of recommendations in an international environment.
Ownership, reliability, analytical thinking and strong organisation, including the ability to manage several workstreams in parallel.
Strong interpersonal skills: relationship building, stakeholder engagement, active listening, explaining complex topics in clear language and aligning solutions across teams without formal authority.
Additional advantages
